Client Background
An aviation manufacturer based in Central Europe and one of the oldest aerospace companies globally, employing over 1,000 people. Due to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), further information cannot be disclosed.
Challenges
Lack of In-House Expertise
The client had no internal specialists for Fabric adoption. The federated team of data analysts (one per business unit) lacked clear guidance on supporting adoption effectively.
Risk of Unused Reports
There was a risk that the reports might not be effectively adopted or utilized.
Coordination Challenges
The BI Office, a group of federated data analysts, needed to align on adoption activities. Analysts were dispersed across teams, working in silos, and lacked a unified strategy.
Inefficiencies in Collaboration
Without systematic cooperation, efforts were duplicated unnecessarily, leading to inefficiencies.
Our Solution
Microsoft Fabric adoption is one of the key products within the Data Strategy portfolio. It involves several steps that we follow to ensure smooth implementation and integration:
Interviews with Key Stakeholders
We conducted five rounds of interviews with key stakeholders over a span of four weeks. These included BI Analysts, the Head of IT, and other relevant team members.
Fabric Adoption Maturity Assessment
We assessed 12 key areas to understand the current state of Microsoft Fabric adoption. Based on this evaluation, we defined clear targets for progress, setting a strategic direction for improvement over the next six months.
Roadmap and Activities
We provided a detailed list of activities to drive the adoption of Microsoft Fabric. Along with this, we developed a comprehensive roadmap that mapped out the timeline and milestones for the project.
Metrics and Tracking
- Created a set of metrics to monitor adoption progress.
- Executed adoption activities in collaboration with the client’s team.
To track the success of the adoption process, we created a set of metrics to monitor progress. We collaborated with the client’s team to execute adoption activities, ensuring effective implementation and continuous progress tracking.
